What is Mutual Aid?
Mutual aid is a form of political participation where communities take care of one another, rather than relying on institutions like governments or charities to meet our needs. It's about solidarity, not charity - working together as equals to support each other and build collective power.
Our monthly mutual aid events bring the Arvada West community together to share resources, connect with neighbors, and support each other through both everyday needs and challenging times. Everyone has something to offer, and everyone deserves support when they need it.
Request Community Support
Do you need help with something? Our community is here to support you. Submit a request and we'll work to connect you with neighbors who can help at our monthly mutual aid gathering.
We can help with:
- Food & Household Items - Non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, personal care items
- Clothing & Textiles - Seasonal clothing, professional attire, bedding, linens
- Tools & Equipment - Household tools, electronics, mobility aids
- Services & Skills - Transportation, skill sharing, temporary childcare
- Emergency Support - Urgent needs and crisis assistance
How it works:
- Submit your request through our secure form
- Choose your privacy level (public, private, or anonymous)
- Receive confirmation and event details
- Connect with community members at our monthly gathering
